Morgan Butler was born in Waukesha and has spent most of his life here. A graduate of Waukesha High School, his undergraduate degree is from University of Wisconsin School of Business, with honors, majoring in Finance and Construction Management. Subsequently, he studied law at the University of Wisconsin Law School and began practice in January 1977, having been accepted into practice by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and the Eastern and Western District Federal Courts. After passing the bar exam, Morgan Butler was accepted into practice by the Supreme Court of Michigan in September 1977. Throughout his time as an undergraduate and a law student, Morgan Butler financed his education operating a small residential construction company while achieving master level skills in several building trades. His understanding of construction, through studies at university and hands-on involvement with numerous projects in new residential construction, renovation and rehabilitation give him invaluable insight into the entire construction process. From design and engineering to where the responsibility lines are drawn between sub-contractors and between construction trades, this experience is invaluable when representing clients with real estate or construction issues.
