Review content:
Had been great for several years, but I have changed our vet. Academy East sat on a prescription request from Petmeds until the 4th business day.
They finally faxed the prescription after I called them at 9:30AM on 9/2/10. The receptionist (Joyce) said she saw the request Monday morning, August 30th, and wondered why it was still there Thursday morning. She said she'd find out and call me back.
6 1/2 hours later I stopped in because nobody had called me. I was informed they had faxed it, but I knew I'd run out of medicine because of the shipping time on Labor Day weekend. I asked for a few pills to get us through. The had the audacity to try and charge me almost $1 per pill while Petmeds has 180 pills for under $40, including shipping. I explained I wouldn't need any pills if they had faxed the request back to Petmeds in a timely manner. I asked if I could just borrow a few and return them when my supply came in. The answer was no because they vet couldn't confirm the manufacturer of the meds I'd receive. That part is understandable.
Once I realized they were sticking to their guns and planned on charging me for pills I only needed because of their procrastination, I told them we'd take our 3 pets elsewhere.
I don't know if anybody even bothered to say anything to try and convince me to stay with them.
My new vet has already requested copies of our records.
