Review content:
I called George Brazil at 3:30pm because my A/C air handler fan would not come on. He was prompt and came out at 6pm. Stuck his head in the attic and said that my variable speed blower motor was bad. It would cost $1900 to repair. Unit is 7 years old and I had this replaced in 2010. He said he could possibly do it for $1600 or maybe even $1450, if I bought a warrantee. Told him to call me in the morning. In the meantime, I called a local 2 man shop and they quoted me $650 for the motor (it has to be a Trane, not generic) and $150-$200 for labor. I know they have higher overhead but $800 for a 2 hour install job? The last time it went out in 2010, I was charged $370 for labor (part was under warrantee.
