As a new client, I went into the Animal Medical Center in Traverse City with a list of concerns and questions for our new vet. Our 7 year old dog has a thick file from our previous vet. We love him dearly but he has some major health issues. I was greeted by smiling faces that not only made me feel better but the staff made an extra effort to make my dog feel more at ease. The carpet in their lobby was a great change since my dog was in pain, and he didn't have to struggle with slippery tile--like at our old vet. I was ushered into an exam room by Dr. Thomas Mertaugh and he wholeheartedly took down my dog's long medical history. He explained his point of view and instantly I trusted his advice. I left my baby with him and his staff for a few hours so they could complete bloodwork and some other tests. Dr. Mertaugh called me and I went back to his clinic. He explained the results and answered all my questions. His approach was spot on and his treatment has given me and my family
