My husband and I recently hired Tommy Irvin to texture and paint our walls, install new moulding and install hardwood floors. We ended up being out of our home for 34 days when he told us it would only be a week. I came to check on the house one day and surprise he had torn out my powder room and told me he wanted to remodel it as a present for my husband and I. Yeah, he was stalling. I began to ask him where my hardwood floors were that I had given him the money for. He said that he had ordered them and put a deposit down on them. The next day I asked again and pressed him to call the distributor, I got a hold of the distributor and there was not an order in his name. He then said that he and the distributor went way back and that he didn't need to put a deposit down and that I must of misunderstood, that he put a deposit down on my moulding. I pulled out a copy of the receipt he gave me for the moulding and said, it doesn't show you put a deposit down, he then informed me that he lies under stress. My husband and I had to cut a check directly to the flooring company or he wouldn't be able to finish our job he said. I wish I would have fired him them, I am going to need to hire someone else from the damage he caused to my home. We had to file police reports for items stolen from our home. Avoid at all costs. My neighbors told me they thought he was sleeping in our home. Glad he could stay here when we couldn't!
