Both Dr. Moon and Dr. Tisnado missed symptoms of congestive heart failure in my dog. She was diagnosed in 2008 at 8 yrs old with a heart murmur and underwent an echo cardiogram. She was prescribed medication with instructions to follow up every 6 months for blood work. No prognosis or other instructions regarding food or lifestyle changes or any symptoms to watch for. In June 2011 she was seen for her physical with instructions to have another echo. I mentioned her cough. Echo showed minor changes but still stable. In August she presented with a more chronic cough. Was not asked about any other symptoms. I was not convinced of an allergy diagnosis for the cough and requested a chest x-ray. In September she had her x-ray which was inconclusive yet some perplexing things did show up. Again not asked about any symptoms but was prescribed lasix in case there was any fluid.
