Review content:
I recently adopted a puppy and sadly, the adoption place did not take care of my puppy before I got it. So lucky me, I had a puppy who had pneumonia. At first I was going to go to Banfield, but I did not like the idea of having to pay a one time membership fee and then a monthly fee for at least a year (even if my puppy were, god forbid, not going to make it). After searching through Google for a place to take my puppy, I came across Webster Groves Animal Hospital. The HOURS were an attractive part of this location: 24 Hours Fri, Sat, and Sun and 6am-2am Mon-Thurs. How amazing is that?!!! I decided to give this place a call (since they were open so late, I knew there would be someone to speak to). The receptionist who answered the phone was so kind and helpful even at midnight, so that was also a winner. After working with her, she was able to get us an appointment at a good time, which I appreciated a lot since it was imperative someone saw my puppy ASAP. So the next day, we went to our appointment. Immediately we were welcomed by 2 receptionists at the hospital. They were so kind and sweet and kept saying how cute my puppy was. I filled out the new client forms that are online (another good point about their website) and had everything all filled out when I arrived at the Animal Hospital so I didn't have to fill out anything when I got there. After a not too long wait, we were called in for our appointment. Once we entered the patient room, a vet tech came in, who was very welcoming just like the receptionists to ask a few questions. Then Dr. Britt came in and did the basic tests to figure out what was wrong with my puppy. Dr. Britt was excellent and is one of the main reasons why I will continue to go to Webster Groves Animal Hospital. She was able to answer all of my questions and when it was time to decide whether or not to admit my puppy to the hospital because she was THAT sick. After seeing the price for the hospital from the accountant who came in, it was CRAZY EXPENSIVE! The accountant was nice, but tried to sell me on this Pet Care Card idea and I was just not having it. $1400 for a few days in the hospital is OUTRAGEOUS! Thankfully, Dr. Britt came back in and said she could deduct some costs and not charge us for that day's hospital cost and if we were to keep our puppy over for just one more day rather than 3, that it would not be as much. SHE WAS RIGHT! So a bill that would have been $1400 turned to a little less than $500 (I say that is a good deal!).
