my house had old crank out windows that were leaky and drafty because they couldn't be closed well. The screens were on the inside of the window. We took one of the screens to Naugatuck Window & Glass and had them make plexi-glass inserts with weather stripping on them for each of our windows. They were like storm windows on the inside. They fit beautifully, stopped the drafts, and saved me about 250 gallons of oil in one winter. They certainly paid for themselves in the first year.
