Being new to the area and in search of a good garden/nursery I was eager to go to Ashcombe Farm on the recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed by what I found.
Ashcombe Farms is a complete garden/nursery - with everything from trees to baked goods! The "shop" is set up with distinct areas depending on type of item. On one side of the street is the nursery, there you can find trees, bushes, vines, etc. Across the way is the shop and the greenhouse. The shop has many home decorations (candles, pot pourri, gingham) available, here you will find a bakery and an area with fresh produce. The perennials are located in the central courtyard. Herbs, annuals, houseplants, and furniture are located in the greenhouse.
There were many staff members present to assist customers. I was impressed by the variety of plants available and the helpful directional signs throughout the store. The plants looked healthy and well taken care of. The prices are a bit on the pricey side.
Overall, Aschombe Farm & Greenhouses is a delight to all your senses. What could be better than wandering through a beautiful display of flowers, smelling the lavender or roses, and being able to buy a homemade peach pie?
