Review content:
MOTHERS TO BE...BEWARE!!! Phoenix Perinatal Associates is supposed to specialize in ""high risk"" pregnancy. I conceived triplets through IVF and was referred to them. Upon my first visit, I was assigned to Dr. Lin. I was comfortable with her and impressed with the office. After my first visit, I never saw her again. I had a total of 5 visits and had five different doctors. Each time I met someone new, it seemed as though they did not communicate with each other or even read my charts. For example, one doctor said I would need to take a glucose test at my next appointment, to determine gestational diabetes. I had already taken the test two weeks before with an abnormal result.
There was never any extra testing or care; they didn't even give me a specific diet to follow. What I mean is my appointments consisted of urine test and ultrasound; pretty standard stuff (what is specialty or ""high risk"" care?) at outrageous cost. Luckily, I have excellent insurance, but to give you an idea, my average appointment cost was $4000.
I experienced what I thought was a great pregnancy; no problems to mention other than gestational diabetes, which is common when carrying multiples. My last appointment was Tuesday, Aug 9th 2011in which they conducted the 3 1/2 hour diabetes test. Durning that appointment I told the new doctor that I had been feeling discomfort (sort of like I was running out of room and also had swollen ankles and feet.) I had to practically beg for a bed rest order to provide to my employer; to the point I felt like I was doing something unethical. My job entails standing on my feet all day and I just felt like it was getting difficult to do every day.
36 hours later, I went into labor at 23 weeks/ 1 day and all three of my children died. They never called with my test results. Phoenix Perinatal was contacted by the hospital staff and notified regarding the emergency surgery and death of my children. THEY NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO CALL ME FOR A FOLLOW UP REGARDING MY TEST RESULTS OR TO SHED SOME LIGHT ON WHY MY BABIES DIED. I JUST CONTINUE RECEIVING BILLS.
