I used to go to the Stardust Diner from around the time it opened in 2002 to 2006 at least once a week. The atmoshpere was lively and the food was uncomplicated "comfort food", but always very good quality. I had noticed the quality slipping in the past couple years, and quit going for awhile. Saw the "under new ownership" sign and stopped in last week to give it a try. Tried my old favorite, the lasagna, it was exactly like I remembered it from years past. My girlfriend had a bacon cheesburger; it was really good too. The atmosphere was upbeat and there seemed to be a lot more staff on hand than the last time I was in. Looks like the new owners are on the right track; we had a great meal/experience, just like the old days at the Stardust. I am really happy that someone took it over who cares about quality because this place is a real asset to the neighborhood.
