After reading some of the reviews about unnecessary expensive tests, I was a bit reluctant to try this hospital. However, I found myself in need of a vet one day when I needed a health certificate to fly and my usual vet was out of town (very annoying btw). I called VCA and they gave me an appointment that day. \r \r The front desk staff was very nice and the nurse went over everything with me before the doctor came in. The doctor was very friendly and thorough. She pointed out things that my usual vet hadn't noticed (like really bad dental disease). She recommended blood work and even though my cat seemed healthy, I agreed to it. \r \r Guess what--my apparently healthy cat had kidney disease and high blood pressure. We started medication, changed her food and got her teeth cleaned. So when people complain about the cost (and yes, my visit wasn't cheap) I tell them you get what you pay for. VCA may be more expensive, but only because they offer the best care. I would never go an
