Review content:
I recently received a three-day trial membership to the Santa Barbara Athletic Club, so went to give it a try. The facility is very nice and has the latest equipment. Membership prices are on the high side. However, the building itself felt cramped to me because it is built up instead of out. There is no room to expand here. There is a very small lap pool (just a few lanes) in the back and a tiny jacuzzi spa. The members tend to be "yuppies" also. Staff are nice.
Plenty of free parking. Just off the 101 freeway at Castillo Ave.
PROS: cramped quarters, good equipment
CONS: expensive.
