After having an addition built onto our house in 2003, we contacted several landscaping firms for quotes on "cleaning up" and grading/landscaping etc. to fit the new topography of our yard. Although not the least expensive quote, we contracted with Rustic Road because they provided the most knowledgeable suggestions about re-grading to ensure rainwater management; their general landscaping redesign suggestions also sounded reasonable. Upon completion, we were utterly amazed at how well they integrated the "problem spots" into a coherent and elegant vision of a beautiful yard. My favorite example of this was their taking a high spot (as in pile of excavation dirt) and converting it into a raised side yard held in place with a natural boulder retaining wall and accessed by a two-step flagstone staircase. \r Our side yard has evolved over the last several years into a 20' x 35' garden area, with raised beds lovingly built by my husband in his workshop.
