I had just moved to CT and gotten a new job, I picked aspen dental because they were covered by my insurance. I went in to get an exam and schedule for a cleaning. I have never had a cavity in my life and never had any trouble with my gums. I had gone to a different dentist about 4 months earlier who told me I had no cavities and my teeth were fine. When I went in to aspen they told me I had 7 cavities and needed a periodontal cleaning because my gums were so bad, and that I also needed to have my wisdom teeth removed. Some of this was covered through my insurance but I still ended up paying over $1000 out of pocket. Even though I had gone to the other dentist, I didn't want to mess with my mouth, and I figured that if I had cavities that I should get them filled and that if i needed a "deep periodontal cleaning" that I should just do it.
