I've been to the San Diego Zoo... The Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, and a few other zoos. Detroit has a decent zoo. The exhibits, animals, and staff are worth the price of admission. Yes, they raised the price again. The rising costs of petroleum make delivering food and equipment to the zoo more expensive. When the owners of our sports clubs raise the price of tickets it is to pay for the athletes who make a living. When the zoo raises its price...it's to feed the animals and pay the staff to take care of them. The Detroit Zoo has made strides in maintaining a healthy environment for our animals. Yes, I was sorry to see our Elephants leave. But they were getting old and it was hard to care for them. They are in a great environment now and living better. The kids still have a great place to go and see all the animals. There are other attractions. The train now costs to ride on it. But that too doesn't run on air. Someone has to maintain it. All in all...a great place to spend the day wi
