I took my engagement ring in with a third party appraisal of about $7,000 in hand. After hearing a long drawn out explanation of the economy and used diamonds being compared to used cars, I was offered $600. After trying New York Diamond Exchange, which allowed me to enter my ring specs online, I was offered more than twice that amount for just the center diamond. I would highly recommend taking your jewelry to a more respectful business!
