Review content:
My serpentine/timing belt broke and couldn't get it to the mechanic I normally go to in Waterloo. I think Tuffy's is par for the course in Iowa City - meaning expensive. Maybe it's because of all the money associated with the University, but I went to Seydell and it was about the same markup.\r \r So they charged me 264 for parts. A search on autopartswarehouse.com showed 145. Then they charged me 152 for labor. They also threw on 25 for "Shop Supplies."\r \r I think they did a pretty good job, but those prices seem pretty steep especially with the economy rolling down hill. But that's what you get if you're car dies right next to the shop and you don't want to pay to get it towed some place a bit more reasonable.
