However, after searching all over the internet and local junk yards I have discovered that the piece is very hard to come by. I have spent countless hours trying to find something instead of buying a new part from the dealer which cost over $400.\r

This struck interest in how this whole thing occurred. I called a guy that used to install radios in Louisiana. He put me in touch with a guy from Metra, the company that made the trim kit. I had two lengthy conversations with the guy that I recorded. I recorded the conversations simply to have a resource to use when looking at the radio after pulling the dash trim off to look at it. He had asked me to pull it off and look at the brackets. What I was told by the metra employee was that the unit that was sold to me was an oversized radio and did not meet the industry standard.
