Review content:
This restaurant resides inside the Emory Inn, a hotel across from the CDC that one could describe as run down. My wife inquired at the desk if they rented rooms by the hours. However, once inside the restaurant we were overtaken by its charm. The atmosphere is very romatic, with dim lights, fine oil paintings on the walls, and a guitar player covering the traditional romance ballads such as diana krall, joini mitchell, and John Denver.
We started with the mussels which were abolutely fantastic, with a sauce that was a bit creamier than usual. The bread that accompanied the the mussels might have been sourdough and it ws served very warm - a nice touch. I ordered the southern fried chicken with lemon caper sauce and it was to die for. My wife ordered the salmon and the herb mixture was phenomenal. I would have preferred the salmon a bit more moist, but it was fine for her. The waiter threw in a profiterol dessert for us and it was also fantastic. Then the guitar player accomodated a few of our requests. It was a perfect evening.
