Review content:
My wife and child hydroplaned off the interstate and the highway patrol called a tow company (fairplay) before the tow I called could arrive. I arrived on scene while the fairplay tower was pulling our van off a stump, so I called off the tow company that my insurance company called. Once fairplay had pulled the van out I told the fairplay tow driver that I wanted our van taken to a bodyshop less than 10 miles from the accident scene. He told me that he had to take our van to his yard b/c he would not get paid for 60 days if he took it to the body shop. He told me (while I was talking simultaneously to my insurance co. and I was repeating everything he said to them) that they would pick the van up from his yard and he'd get paid that day. My insurance company and I could not understand the logic in this, but my insurance company assured me that they would get the van from his yard and get it repaired asap. Well, it took 3 days to get the vehicle from the fairplay yard. It took roughly 11 days for me to get the vehicle back after the accident and cost roughly $3000. I was shocked to see on the itemized bill that I was charged $720 for towing by fairplay. Not only did they decieve me with the story about getting paid, but they charged my insurance company $720 for a tow that was not over 10 miles. These folks are crooks. I would stay away from them and if you have the bad fortune to use them, demand that they take your vehicle to a body shop or elsewhere and not to their yard or they'll screw you like they did me and my insurance company. Cons: These folks are crooks
