We'd only kenneled our dog once before and it was awful. We're so anxious about having to leave her again, so we've been checking out local places near Palmer/Wasilla. After our vet recommended we check out Dogtopia, we actually went to another one before Dogtopia...now that we found Dogtopia, we need look no further!\r

Each dog literally has his/her own condo...not a chain linked cell, but a sound proofed (more or less) room with a couch, radio or tv, and a door to their own solid walled patio area with a chain linked third wall to the outdoors. All is covered. There are playtimes that can either be solo, or with owner approval and Dogtopia's staff's approval, you dog can get socialization time with other dogs. \r

The owner of Dogtopia lives just down the way and does the morning routine by 7:30/8am and last call for puppy love is close to 10pm. They are treated just as you'd hope they would be at a kennel....but it's not even a kennel. It's a home away from home! Sure, the rates are 1/3 higher, but the peace of mind...and not coming back to a stressed and anxious dog...priceless!\r

If you are unsure of where to take your dog when you're away...check with Dogtopia. You may just find that this is your last stop! :)
Pros: Calm, serene environment & Confident, knowledgeable staff/owner
Cons: A bit higher priced, but not really a con since there is nothing like a calm dog while you're away!
