Review content:
Years ago I thought my dog, Chase, would have to be put to sleep. He couldn't walk and would lay moaning in pain. A previous vet ran tests and found Chase had a thyroid problem. The medicine worked and within months I had my old dog back, energetic and running around like a puppy. It didn't take a degree to figure out it worked. However, when Chase started going to Palmetto Pet Hospital, Dr. Dawn Martin insisted he had been misdiagnosed. I explained to her the amazing turnaround, but she insisted she knew better than me and better than the previous vet who made Chase healthy. She took Chase off the medicine so she could run her own tests and then had the audacity to call me and say ""boy, you must have a degree in veterinary medicine because believe it or not Chase has a thyroid issue."" I was clearly frustrated by that call, but more frustrated that she wanted him brought back to be tested the following month, and the month after that, and the month after that. She made me pay for multiple appointments and wanted more future appointments just to get back to where we were before we went to her in the first place. Despite arguing with her each step of the way, she insisted she was right, I was wrong, and the previous vet had gotten lucky. She actually said they got lucky. They apparently pulled an illness as obscure as hypo-thyroidism for dogs out of thin air and luckily nailed it right on the head. Dr. Martin has a lack of common sense and an inability to listen to her customers. I wish I had stopped going there sooner, but I kept hoping she would be satisfied at the next appointment. Instead she kept requesting additional appointments. I finally had enough. Dr. Martin and Palmetto abuse their position as an animal healthcare specialist to milk pet owners out of charges for unnecessary and repetitious appointments. Pros: nothing Cons: Rip off, does not know how to hear over the sound of her own voice
