Review content:
I've been going to this place for years. As a matter of fact I remember when it was called Sakeya's but I'm not sure if the owners were the same.\r \r Food for the most part is very very good. Some people I know might get a little picky on the sushi flavor/authenticity but this is the bay area so variety is what makes it so great!\r To be honest the service can either be very friendly or downright horrible. The best service you will ever get would be in the day time right before a lunch crowd where you can sit and chat with either Minh or Nine (the owner & his brother/chefs) while they make you a ""Dynamite."" The worst (and this has happened to me) would be on a super crowded busy night where you are in the corner and the servers keep passing you up because they forgot you were there/can't see you. I still highly recommend it tho. If it's your first time and you are the ""impatient I better get supreme quality service"" type then go when it's a slow time (like the lunch). If you don't mind waitng with friends while downing Sake Bombs and other sake drinks then go on Friday or Saturday night.\r \r Recently they've added DJ's to there atmosphere and the Friday night guy plays old skool hip-hop classics that make me remember being at my high school and has the crowd singing it's lyrics. Good because I hear enough of that ""bay hyphy"" stuff on the radio and regular clubs.\r \r So lunch time/normal weekday. Great restaurant. Weekends, treat it as a bar/lounge that serves sushi! =) Pros: Good crowd of people. 80's -90's hip-hop on Fridays. Cons: Food service can be slow depending on crowd/staffing.
