Review content:
The original Taverna on Knox was one of my favorite restaurants in DFW when it first opened. Unfortunately, the downward spiral of their quality control has coincided with the opening of the newer location in Fort Worth. We were encouraged by a tasty appetizer (Caprese) and risotto special (Salmon and Artichoke), but the lamb chops were so fatty that even the BONE was marbled. The replacement 'braised short ribs' was actually one giant rib attached to a giant bone I imagined Wilma Flintstone might have used in her hair. Braised ribs when done correctly should fall off the bone but this one had the consistency of a chalk eraser. To their credit, they comped everything but our drinks and offered us free dessert (no thanks), but honestly I would rather pay top dollar for a good meal than chump change for a bad meal and a swig of pepto!
Pros: good risotto & caprese
Cons: poor quality control overall
