Dr. Gausas performed an upper bleph on my eyelids. I was administered a local anethesia for the procedure. \r During surgery, I was experiencing no pain, but was\r aware of everything that was going on. At a point during the procedure, I heard her say to the ""Fellow"" doctor she was instructing, ""stitch-her-up."".As a result of this procedure, I was left with a wide-opened hooded left \r eye, that makes me look ""startled"", and a small peephole for a right eye, that the inexperienced, Fellow sutured.. I told Dr. Gausas during my post-up visit, a week later, how very unhappy I was with the results. I said you let a student stitch-my-eye up. She said, ""No, I didn't"". I said yes you did doctor, I heard you say it, and the student was leaning over me. I asked her why the Fellow made such a large suture, she said, ""I don't know,"" basically, admittingher lie. She told me if I wasn't happy I could see another doctor. She saw how deeply upset I was; and, the horrific way I looked, and she didn't even offer to fix it. I did see another ocular plastic doctor, and he told me my upper bleph was overcorrected and to go back to Dr. Gausas and tell her to do a revisional surgery. Dr. Gausas performed not one, but two revisional surgeries, with no improvement. When those procedures weren't successful, she came up with an idiotic, and potentially further damaging solution to the problem of the wide-open hooded eye and the small peep-hole eye on the right.. She told me to tug on my left eyelid ten times a day to bring it down to the size of the smaller right eye. opening . Well, the problem with following that, ill given\r advice, is that it would result in one long-drooping left eyelid, and with no eyelid showing on the right, I would look like a freak for sure. The upperbleph procedure is to lift eyelids, not to droop them, to match the eye, an\r that was sutured closed to a peephole. That she was willing to add further emotional pain to me by suggesting I do this, shich would result in further damage to my appearance, was devastating. It also hurt that she would insult her patient's intelligence, and didn't care what they sufferred, at her hands. I have never come in contact with such an uncaring, manipu-\r lative person in my life. Doctors are suppose to help people not hurt them; and when they make a mistake, admit it, not suggeting something that would further harm them. She didn't care what I would wind up looking like. She ws just hoping I was stupid enough to take her advice amd gp away. I suffer great \r emotional pain every day I look in the mirror, and see how I have been maimed. I suffer equally, to have been treated in such a callous, inhumane way, as Doctor Roberta Gausas, has treated me. Pros: There are none Cons: Everything - from her dishonesty to her incompetency
