Businiess name:  The Leak Detectors
Review by:  Linton J.
Review content:
If your car has problems, you take it to a mechanic and they tell you what's causing the problem and fix it, right? Of Course. If your computer breaks down, the repair person tells you the cause and does the fix, right?, Yes of course. And if your air conditioner begins to leak, the company called "Leak Detectors" finds the cause of the leak and replaces it right? If you said yes, you'd be way wrong. Leak Detectors is run by the most inconsiderate, lousy and lazy slug ever to own a business license. Fortunately, according to the State of CA's Contractor's Website, (http://www2.cslb.ca.gov/CSLB_LIBRARY/License+Detail.asp ) that license is up for renewal, and If I have anything to do with it, it won't be. We paid Leak Detectors after what appearted to be a break in the air conditioning line in the condo unit below the one I own. The company came out, apparently fixed the leak. But instead of identifying where the leak was, and what caused it. all the so called "report" said was simply "condonsation line for both units was plugged.. blew out line." That's it! For insurance purposes, I needed the explanation to be flushed out just a bit more. But the owner, Michael Tostado, refuses to put in the report, which was paid for at a cost of $200, a compelete explanation as to the cause and the repair. Why? Who knows. He won't return my calls. In fact, he has yet to return my calls, after several very cordial phone converstions over the last month to his assistant whom I politely asked to have him call me back. Bottom line, don't deal with this business! The only leak that will get detected is the money pouring out of your wallet and into the hands of a lousy, lazy good for nothing, condecending arrogant "businessman" - who, by the way, may be employing illegal help. According to CA law, the employees of construction companies have to have licenses. "Ivan" was the name of the person who actually peformed the work on the condensation line. As you can see in the link below, he isn't listed as an employee of Leak Detectors... hmmmm. http://www2.cslb.ca.gov/CSLB_LIBRARY/Personnel+List.asp?LicNum=618116
