Review content:
Took son in for contact lens appointment. He was switching from glasses to contact lenses. They shuffled us from room to room for over 2 hours! They did a glaucoma test, had him look at a few things with and without his glasses and then dilated his eyes. The doctor came in, spent about 10 seconds looking at his eyes and said he was a good candidate for contact lenses. THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO AN EYE TEST!! THEY DIDN'T CHECK HIS EYES TO SEE WHAT HE COULD SEE BEST WITH, JUST ASKED IF HE COULD SEE OK OUT OF HIS CURRENT GLASSES (which were from a prescription that was 2 years old).\r \r Then told us we would have to come back on Monday, because they didn't realize we wanted contact lenses. Their contact lens fitter wasn't there on Fridays. I MADE A SPECIFIC APPOINTMENT FOR CONTACT LENSES! The doctor assured me they would not charge me for another appointment. \r \r They charged my insurance company $280 for the first appointment (and never even tested to see if his current eyeglass prescription was the best for him!). Then they charged the insurance company $150 for a second appointment to fit the lenses.\r \r They then seemed upset that we didn't purchase contact lenses from them. They quoted $60 per box, we went online to justlenses and they are $37 per box. Same brand, free shipping. I called them back to ask if they would meet the $37 online price. They got mad and told me that they needed to make a profit. (as if the online company was a non-profit). I told them we preferred to keep our business local, but they refused to even budge on the price.\r \r My advice, shop around, especially for your children. My insurance company was charged $430 for an eye exam that was incomplete. Then try to charge $60 for a box of contact lenses that can be bought online from various vendors for $35-$40. \r \r We will never go back!\r \r Cons: Rip Off Alert
