I am so frustrated with this place, I just posted this same review on Yelp. When I first arrived, everything was great. Marisol gave me all of the new patient paperwork to fill out. As I was filling everything out I came across an arbitration agreement. It stated that I would agree to forgo a jury trial and see an arbitrator of the doctor's choosing should any problems arise. This is the first time I have ever seen or been asked to fill one of these out. I wasn't comfortable signing my legal rights away, so I left it blank. I explained to Marisol that I had not signed that page and asked her for clarification on it. I asked if I had to sign it. She said that she wasn't sure but that she would mention it to the doctor. I even joked that I promised I didn't want to sue them and she laughed with me. Fine, no problem. I went to sit back and wait. The next thing you know, the Office Manager is calling me up to the desk. Now, I know something must have been lost in translation, because she was obviously not happy with me from the get go. She wanted to know why I was refusing to sign the arbitration agreement. I told her that wasn't the case at all. I wanted more clarity on what it was I was signing and I would like to speak to the doctor about it before I do. She said that I would not be allowed to see the doctor until I signed it. This seemed rather unreasonable to me, so I asked if I could just talk to the doctor for a second at the desk and explain my worries. She (very dramatically) huffs and storms off around the corner. When she comes back, she says that the doctor is too busy to see me and if I won't sign the agreement, then I should just be on my way. Now, I have already taken off from work to come in for this appointment, and I feel like I am being treated unfairly. To make a longer story a bit shorter, I refused to leave and stood at the front desk until the doctor came out and I plead my case to her. She then very graciously explained the document to me and said she would go ahead and see me. She was wonderful in the appointment, very nice, thorough, and apologetic for her office manager. She mentioned that she can be somewhat abrasive and that she had other complaints about her in the past. I leave happy, a bit irritated a bit with the office manager but whatever. I have been back a couple of times for fertility tests and a follow up. We talked over options for IVF.. She tells me good luck and she will see me when I am good and pregnant. Fast forward to today. I am 10 weeks pregnant after two tries at IVF and have just been given the go ahead from my RE to go see my ob/gyn. Now I have to say, in the meantime I have recommended Dr. Hines to two other girls, and I have very excitedly talked about her to people. I love her personality; she is a lot of fun, really takes time to answer questions and seems to care. Yay! I already have a great ob lined up. Or not. I just called the office to speak with Marisol and make my first prenatal appointment. This is very exciting for me because I have tried so hard for so long to conceive. Marisol was very sweet until she realized that this was for a prenatal and not a well-woman exam. She puts me on hold to speak to the office manager and then gets back on the line and tells me that Dr. Hines is not taking any new deliveries, that her limit is 10 per month. Huh? I told her that I am already a patient of Dr. Hines. She said that she knows but there is nothing she can do. She said she would have the doctor contact me and maybe she could make some recommendations for other doctors. Needless to say, I feel abandoned and a bit betrayed. I lined up a good ob/gyn before I got pregnant so I would be comfortable once it finally happened. And now she is refusing to see me? So back to the ol' drawing board. I was expecting a call back today, but it is now after 6pm and radio silence. Thanks for not caring, Dr. Hines.
