I booked airport transportation service though A Step Above Limo Service for pick up on Thursday June 10th. Part of my requirements was that I needed an infant seat in the car. I called to a few limo places before I found this company that stated they had infant seats available. The driver showed up promptly at8:30am Thursday June 10, 2010. However, that is where the “good” in this story ends. The driver only brought the carrier part of the infant car seat. He did NOT bring the base to the car seat…you know, the part that secures the baby & seat to the car. When he insisted that it was fine to only have the carrier, I asked him how he was going to seatbelt it to the car. He then proceeded to take the flimsy plastic part that holds up the sunshade and cram it into the seatbelt buckle. Obviously this was not going to work to safely transport my 2 month old baby. I sent the driver away, and drove myself to the airport. It was critical that I have a driver on this trip because I had not only the baby, but 2 large suitcases, 2 carryons, and a very large stroller. Without my husband coming on the trip, I needed to be dropped off at the curb, as airport parking and taking a bus shuttle to the door was out of the question. (And my husband wasn’t available to drive us). So, I parked in hourly parking so that my husband could retrieve the car late that evening. I felt that I should be reimbursed for this parking - $16. I called the company as soon as I got settled in the airport to inform them of the mishap. I was told the owner, which is who I would need to speak with, was on vacation and to call on Monday. I called back Monday June 14th and was informed that he was still on vacation until the end of the week and to try back again the Monday following. I called back today, June 22nd at 8am. No one answered the call. About 20 minutes later, I got a return phone call asking if someone from this number had tried calling “A Step Above Limo Service.” I informed them that I had and proceeded to tell them the story. The person on the phone then HUNG UP ON ME! (I wasn’t even mean, rude, or using inappropriate language – they just failed to want to deal with the customer complaint). I promptly tried to call the company back, twice, with no answer. About 15 minutes later, I tried again, from a different phone number, and someone answered right away. I asked for the name of the manager – and there was silence. I said “hello?” and a person responded. I asked when the manager/owner would be back. I was informed by the person on the phone they “they did not know when he would return.” He then hung up on me AGAIN. Long story short – If you need a limo company for airport transportation or any other needs –CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COMPANY!!! The complete avoidance in response to my issue and the fact that the employee actually HUNG UP ON ME TWICE shows the poor standards as to which this company operates. Know that if you choose this company for your transportation needs and if you have an issue – they will completely fail to even acknowledge your issue – let alone correct it. Cons: Rude, Unprofessional, Dismissive
