Review content:
This spot gets high marks in my opinion. It is a cozy shop along a busy street that reminds me of a quaint cafe. It is both a bakery and delicatessen but on an upscale level. I've come here in the morning to get coffee and a pastry--sumptuous treats like chocolate, almond & chocolate crossaints. Everything is fresh and the place is kept clean (big plus in my book).
There are regular and flavored coffees, teas and there is a large refrigerated open case for soft drinks. The place does a brisk take-out business and even in the morning, you'll hear folks getting their lunch on their way over to their offices or the county courthouse which is a few blocks away.
Sandwiches are freshly made and served on croissants, pita, whole grain breads or french baguettes. Oui! There is a wonderful selection of delicious sandwich fillings --curried chicken salad, roast beef, egg salad, smoked salmon w/cucumber, turkey & prosciutto, grilled vegetables w/goat cheese, and smoked tuna (my favorite) just to name a few.
There are also delicious single serving entrees (roasted salmon, chicken, quiche) which are available to eat in or take out in sturdy microwaveable containers. They also offer specialty lunch boxes and this would be a welcome treat if you're hosting a lunch.
Service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Such a nice change from the typical deli and worth a stop if you're anywhere in the area.
