Review content:
Things are not what they seem at Santillane. I agree with the other posters. Here are some things to consider:\r
1. When you get the brochure, it seems like ""everything is included""- you get this nice spread of all the tables and chairs you'll have. Well, it turns out that, in the owner, Lissy's words, ""Those tables aren't really serving tables. You'll have to rent your own.""\r
2. She quoted me at $90 for the sides for the pavilion- turns out that is $90 PER SIDE x 3. There's a heads up for you!\r
3. She steers you towards ""her favorite rental place""- which turns out to be in Lexington, so you end up paying a travel fee. This all totalled $800+ dollars, so you're not saving as much as you think you are.\r
4. Her ""staff"" is a completely joke- she had me pay $10 an hour to have some girl tie ribbons on a chair. I'm pretty sure her ""staff"" is family.\r
5. She lets her dogs eat off your buffet table, and boy, do they smell GOD AWFUL. I'm a dog person, BTW. But this is gross.\r
6. She openly does not like children and tried to tell my well-behaved guests that they needed to ""pick between inside and outside""- um, they're MY guests and I paid for the inside AND outside.\r
7. She doesn't keep receipts and has no idea how much money has been paid- and she'll try to get you to pay extra for random fees.\r
8. She expects your guests out at 10pm sharp- she shut down the DJ.\r
9. All of my desserts went missing when we came back to pick them up.\r
10. She is rude, and inconsistent.\r
11. Her decor is tacky and she will not take it down.\r
12. She didn't clean the toilets- there were smears all over. Gross.\r

Basically, I cannot tell you enough how stressful she made my wedding experience. She doesn't want to run a B&B or a wedding business, she wants to maintain upkeep for her house. She is absolutely ridiculous. I was warned and thought I could handle it, but it is NOT worth it.
