Review content:
After reading several reviews on other web sites and publications, we decided to give this place a shot. It certainly was worth the effort. Started with the Shrimp & Grit?s appetizer, which was outstanding. Entree?s of the nightly special, steak, asparagus, tiger shrimp and garlic mashed. Apple and brie stuffed pork chop with green beans and garlic mashed. Both were outstanding and certainly large enough to share should you so desire. Finished off dinner with peach cobbler/ice cream & pecan pie/ice cream. Both were excellent choices. This restaurant has been in business for 25 years in one of the most competitive markets in the country. They obviously are doing something right. Our server was very nice and accomodated every request with a smile and prompt service. Most of the tables are outside in a very nice courtyard covered by trees. We didn?t know to ask for a table in the middle section, but you should request one of these tables at reservation, or request a table upstairs on the balcony. They have indoor tables if you request in advance should you not desire to sit outside. All in all this is a nice restaurant and provides an upscale twist on typical low country fare. It?s worth a visit. Dress is semi-casual, but keep in mind Charleston is humid and seating is outdoors
Pros: Excellent meal, wide selection upscale low country. Ambience is very nice, parking garage across the street
Cons: Seating is mainly outdoors
