Businiess name:  Artists of the Wall

Review content:
If you want to get a real feel for what the '60s was like, check out the Artists of the Wall. I am one of those artists (and a 60's relic) so I admit my partiality up front. There is a concrete bench that faces the lakefront that stretches for about a city block. There is a wide sidewalk in front of it, then the sandy beach, then the lake. Every June they divide up the spaces on the bench into sections about 10 feet wide. For about $15 you sign up and get to paint your vision on the back of the bench. which stays for a year. ('06 update: now $30) Every year they have a theme. This year it was "Chicago's sister cities". Everyone from kids to professional artists to families or groups of friends gets into it and the results are something to behold. Go on a warm day! Its a gas. http://www.rogerspark.com/master.htm?http://www.rogerspark.com/artistofthewall.htm
