Review content:
I don't normally write reviews, but I stumbled upon the review below and felt obliged to respond on behalf of Dr. Itharat. I don't work for Dr. Itharat or have any real dog in this fight so to speak, but as a patient of Dr. Itharat for 2+ years now, I simply couldn't disagree more with the tone and contents of randrew999's review.
I have always found Dr. Itharat to be extremely courteous, caring and informative. He has provided top notch care to me every time and was the first eye doctor ever to notice a particular condition that I have in one of my eyes. He has handled that particular issue (which was a little concerning at first) perfectly and always went out of his way to be sure I wasn't overly concerned or upset.
As for the cost, I'm not sure that it is fair to compare the costs of an ophthalmologist operating a private practice with those of of an optometrist operating out of a WalMart. I mean no disrespect to Dr. Kegel and I'm sure she is very good at what she does, but there are real and very significant differences between the training, skill set and capabilities of the two levels of eye care professionals.
I highly recommend Dr. Itharat and have many friends and family members who do as well. In terms of cost, I find him to be consistent with any other ophthalmologist of his expertise and capability.
