Review content:
The sales staff are outwardly very friendly, no pressure, etc., but this is part of their overall sales strategy. Beware that when you see a price online, it will be marked about $1000 more on the lot. As soon as the bargaining process begins, they offer to ""knock a grand off the top"" to halt any further attempts at price negotiation, and will become incrementally less polite if you try to continue. The cars are normally guaranteed for 1000 miles or so, or for about a month - fairly weak when you consider you're paying $6000 (as was my case) for a vehicle. I had also called the day I was going to pick it up and was told that it was delayed because they ""had to fix the power mirror switch on the door"". Though I wound up picking it up later that day, when I read the vehicle inspection report and saw the time stamp, I realized it wasn't ""out for repair"" - they sent it out for a quickie inspection five minutes after I called. My headlight fell out on the way home, and it turns out the speakers on the left side didn't work because the door had been replaced due to an accident. As I was in a jam at the time, I couldn't return the car, but then, that's what they specialize in - people who need a car now who don't have many options. I've had it for less that a year and I've had to replace the headlights, window stripping, O2 sensor (twice), catalytic converter, sway bar, sway bar link, brakes, speakers and muffler system. Never again, and I definitely recommend you steer clear of SEMS.
