Both my husband and son had gone to Doctor Fretzin for 2 different procedures. Both procedures were astronomical in price! When questioned about the first bill we were told that they based their pricing on the highest allowed charge by Medicare. We we then told if we simply told them we did not have insurance it would be half the cost. My son's procedure was a simple procedure (10 minutes worth), that the doctor told my husband he was going to send for a pathology. My husband told him it was not necessary, but when we got the bill there is was a $300 charge. When I inquired about it I was told since we did not let them know in writing (which they never told us to do) we would have to pay it. I have to say the billing department tried to help by only charging our insurance company (because they could) and removing our portion of that charge. Oh, BTW did I tell you the procedures did not even work and my husband had stitches pop out that caused a scar? I would highly recommend anyone considering this doctor to stay far, far away!
