Great place to live, especially for retired folks! Most of us have been here for years. 1. Forest View Racquet & Fitness Club is across the street. 6 newly renovated tennis courts accessible to non-members when they aren't in use by members. Club's offerings include a nursery for both members and non-members. 2. Falcon Park, at the corner of Goebbert and Falcon, is being renovated and will offer a new playground and basketball court. 3. Township HS District 214's school next to the club offers community education classes, entertainment/shows, trips, etc. year-round. Great for retirees! 4. PACE bus stop a few feet from our Algonquin parking lot. 5. Mitsuwa Marketplace, the largest Japanese market in the US, is at the end of the block. 6. Within walking distance of 5 shopping centers, restaurants, a dentist across the street, a storage facility, etc. Easy driving distance of many other spots, including Woodfield Mall, just down the road. 7. Large pool onsite and two ponds with gazebos. 8. Grounds are well-kept. Residents landscape areas around their units each year. 9. Laundry and storage facilities in each building. 10. Unlike many condo associations, our monthly fees cover heat (gas), water, garbage, snow removal, all landscaping, all maintenance, and all other operations. We only pay for electricity and cable/phone. 11. Board introduced extensive rules to help prevent people with criminal records from renting or living here. 12. Great management company in American Property Management of IL. Love this place! Regarding the previous post about parking: We don't have a problem with parking here. Our parking rules have been in place for years, and the city works well with us. Guests simply park on the street after 10 pm.
