What kind of tattoo are you looking to get? Do like to converse with your tattoo artist while you are getting your tattoo done? Well then look no further than Rad-a-Tat Tattoo shop. These guys are the most awesome people that you will ever get your tattoo done by. Before I walked into this place I expected nice customer service, a clean tattoo space, and a good quality tattoo. My sister and I walked into the shop and walked up to the counter. We asked about how much the tattoos cost if they went by sizes. The guy at the counter was really nice and he said that the tattoos are the best here and are fairly cheap. He joked around with us and we joked back. We told the guy that my sister wanted a large size tattoo and I wanted a small tattoo. The guy at the counter said that that they can do what we wanted and told us the name of our tattoo artist. My tattoo artist stood in front of me, while he custom made my tattoo for me. His name is Bobby and he is the coolest tattoo artist I have ever met. I was very nervous when I went into the shop but, Bobby was really nice to me and made me feel comfortable. Before I got my tattoo, he took out a sheet of printer paper and sketching my tattoo. As he was drawing my tattoo he asked me questions about myself and why I wanted to get a tattoo. He took that information and figured out the kind of design that would fit my personality. When he was finished designing my tattoo he showed it to me. It was two hearts linked together and that made it a cute but elegant design. I instantly fell in love with it.
After he finished designing my tattoo, he did an ink transfer copy of it. Then he took me to his tattoo station. He had me sit in a lounge type chair. I told him I wanted it on my left ankle. He then used anti-bacteria hand sanitizer on his hands, and then he put on his white gloves. He squirted some solution on the area where I wanted the tattoo to go and then he wiped it off. He then took the ink transfer sheet with the tattoo design on it and placed it on my ankle. He then pulled out two different sterilized needles that were still in there wrapped packaging. He then explained to me what the two needles were used for. The first one is to make the outline of the tattoo and the second one is for the shading and coloring of the tattoo. When he was finished setting up and had his machine ready to go. I told him that I was ready and as a normal reclus for me I held on to the arm of the chair as he began tattooing my ankle. I actually despise needles, but Bobby made me feel comfortable and relaxed.
While Bobby was doing my tattoo, he talked to me and that helped calm my nerves down. We talked about the things we liked, disliked, what our interests are, what kind of music do we like, what we do on a regular basis, etc. By this point I was no longer nervous anymore. Getting the tattoo done hurt but it did not hurt too much. I was the one to get my tattoo done first and my sister was right there with me when I got my tattoo done. It is nice to have someone there with you when you go to get your first tattoo done. But it was even nicer when your tattoo artist talks to you while your tattoo is being done. When Bobby was done he told me how to take care of it till it healed up completely and there were no more scabs. He did an awesome job and I am defiantly going back for my second tattoo. After it was all done I realized that they did not just meet my expectations they surpassed them.
