This used to be one of my favorite places to go. Food was great, portions were ample, staff was attentive and you got all of what you ordered with your meal. Lately, however- last 6 months or so, I have noticed a change that I don't like. I went with my family to celebrate my recent birthday and after we were seated, we ordered drinks which came right away. However 1/2 hour later we were still sitting there with no one coming to take our order. I had to flag the maitre d down to get service. Although it was dinner time on a Saturday night, there was no wait to get in so the place was not that busy. (We were offered an extra basket of chips for our incovenience, whoop - ti -doo).\r
When the food came it was missing items mentioned on the menu that were supposed to come with the meal. We had to point that out to them as well. The food was tasty however when the bill came it left a sour taste in our mouths. Turns out that the guacamole and peppers that they brought with the meal was somehow different than their regular guacamole and peppers (no one bothered to tell us that) and we were charged extra for that along with a $5 margarita my wife ordered that ended up costing us $8/glass because the waiter suggested she try it with something icy on the top! Buyer beware there are lots of hidden costs here. Also make sure you get the tortilla wraps that are supposed to come with your entrees. Somehow they conveniently forget to bring these out when they serve and when they do bring it out, they piece meal it to you. I know this because it happened on two prior occasions that we went there and on this occasion too . So, make sure you are being served all items that come with your meal and ask a lot of pricing questions. Needless to say, Los Cucos has lost this customer who is now seeking a better mexican restaurant. In fact I found one. Try El Rancho on S. Fry and 99.
