I had extensive conversations with both Juan and Alex over the phone about a Honda Odyssey they were selling. I asked repeatedly about the working condition of everything on the vehicle, and they continually assured me that everything works great! \r \r We agreed on a price, and I told them I was planning to come up to Milwaukee from Chicago with my wife and two small children. When we arrived, we took the van to an honest mechanic who told us what Alex and Juan already knew, that among many other issues the van had, neither of the sliding doors worked and would require $700 in repairs to fix. Without functional sliding doors, a family minivan is not functional as a family minivan!\r \r When I pointed it out to Alex and asked whether they could fix it or lower the price, he responded no to both, explaining that they had already chosen not to fix it and that it was built into the price. I then suggested that a material defect like that would be important to include in the online description or to mention on the phone when asked pointedly about any defects. His unapologetic response was, We didn t know about it. First of all, how could they not notice sliding doors that don t work (it s not like they re buried deep in the engine), and second, if they didn t know about it, how could they build it into the price?\r \r These guys intentionally misled me and let my family of four drive all that way in hopes that we would cave and buy the van anyway since we had traveled so far. We walked away.\r \r Typical sleazy used car salesmen.
