I paid almost 300.00 for a job that took a 55.00 part and app. 30 minutes of work. They could be more upfront with their prices. Not cheap in my book.
RESPONSE FROM Service Care, Inc.:
Hi! The actual repair on this unit was $284.00, which included labor, parts, tax and trip to the home. -- We price our repairs based on a national pricing guide that thousands of appliance service professionals use every day to keep pricing fair. This repair was actually done for less than the price recommended by the pricing guide. -- I fully appreciate and acknowledge her opinion that this was more expensive than her expectations for this repair, but I stand by the service that we provided. -- We did the repair in one visit, saving the customer the inconvenience of a 2nd service call. Because of his level of experience and training, our technician was able to determine what part was needed without the benefit of a model or serial number (they were illegible due to age?), and had an equivalent part on his service vehicle. All in all, because of our technician's skill and because we try to stock common parts, we saved the customer (at a bare minimum) two hours of her time. We also prevented her waiting another two days with a broken range. -- If we hadn't provided service at this level of excellence, it could easily have turned into a lengthy repair. A customer's time is valuable, and this would have made this a more expensive repair, not less. -- If you add our six month warranty on the service we provided, I believe we delivered considerable value to this customer by fixing her appliance as rapidly as we possibly can, with as little of her time inconvenienced as was humanly possible.
