It is our policy to do a physical exam before the surgery. Because of work schedules and other family commitments in the morning, it can be very difficult for families to bring a pet in the morning. We offer to admit patients the night before surgery at no additional cost to the family. Following spays or dog neuters we always keep patients until the day after the surgery. This is done to check for postoperative infections or other problems that might affect the recovery. Heba’s cat stayed with us the night before and the night of the surgery. There was no extra hospital time.\r
On the day of a pet’s discharge we provide a free bath where ever possible. Heba’s cat like a small number of our patients became very upset when away from home, with strangers working with them and doing medical procedures. This makes it unsafe for the pet to have a bath. Unfortunately, the person trying to answer Heba’s concerns was unaware of this. She was trying to gather information to help her. We normally would have suggested to bring her back in to the hospital to bath her.\r
\r
We pride ourselves with having a very courteous and helpful group of technicians, veterinary assistants and veterinarians. WE have many testimonials to this. There is no reason for Heba to fear visiting this hospital. Every encounter that I witnessed with her was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I believe that there was a miscommunication that could have been handled in a better way.\r
