Ok, so it's not really for locals only, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a tourist wandering inside this cozy venue. This place has history, and it's been an absolute staple for the obscure and less-well-known music-lovers for decades. Mind you they book quite a few big names as well, but The Independent simply does not genre discriminate. You like metal? Great. Indie? Perfect. Watching movies before their official release all while drinking relatively well-priced libations? This is your place. The raised stage allows every patron to have the exact same viewing opportunity, whether you're on the balcony or not. Pros: Amazing view from anywhere in the venue Cons: Hard to find parking near the venue
