If you're more interested in having your ""aura"" read than having your spine adjusted, than this may be the place for you.
Before speaking with the doctor during my first visit, I had to sit through a long, boring video made sometime in the 80s that reviewed a bunch of generic info about chiropractics that I already knew. (I've seen a lot of different chiropractors) Then I sat through a lecture by Dr. Duffy regarding the benefits of having regular chiropractic work done, which seemed sort of unnecessary: I was already in the office seeking treatment, right? I had just moved from out West, so I explained that my prior chiropractor wanted to send Dr. Duffy my Xrays and records so he could continue treatment. Why use existing Xrays though when you can charge to have more done in your office? He never requested the records, or never really seemed to listen to what exactly my issues were. Instead he told me about some conference he went to recently where he learned to diagnose people by reading their ""aura"" and other such nonsense. Not a good sign... I think this is why so many chiropractors seem to get a bad rep in the healthcare industry. Please just adjust my spine!
Against my better judgment I agreed to see the Dr. several times a week for ""treatment."" Perhaps the use of the adjuster gun thing actually does something, but all I know is that I never left the office feeling any better like I previously did after receiving a traditional adjustment. My symptoms, in fact, progressively got worse. There was no discussion of correcting my posture or work environment, no explanation of exercises I could do to strengthen my back, no helpful home remedies (heat, ice, stretching, etc), or anything of the sort.
After burning my money with this office for over a month, I finally bailed and found an awesome PT that zeroed in on my problems and got me fixed up in no time. I'd still like to find a good chiro, but this office was definitely not it.
And PS, I'd put money on the fact that the ""Dale R"" review above was plugged by the Dr.'s office. Go ahead, read it again and try and tell me it was written by a patient... Right.
