Review content:
I had been wantign to try Andiamo for a while now, and finally went on a Friday night with a small group of friends. We arrived fairly late (for the East side) at around 8pm, and as I walked in I got the feeling the staff was bored and keen to head home - they were huddled together near the open-plan kitchen, and the restaurant had an odd vibe.\r
\r
Nevertheless, I put my doubts aside and our group was seated. Our waitress was bad from the start - brusque, sloppy and totlaly unfriendly. I think she was really hoping to go home early that night, and we felt rushed throughout the meal. When our food arrived she plonked it down violently on the table, and made no effort to clear our appetizer plates. She then appeared as we were half-way through our main courses and asked if we needed anything. I thought she was just checking on our meals, but no, she was asking whether we wanted anythign more to eat. We all said ""no, we're fine"" at the time, and 2 seconds later were presented with the bill. This was while we were still eating our dinner, and before she'd bothered to ask us about dessert.\r

On the positive side, the food was surprisingly goof. The caprese salad was fresh and had good fresh mozzarella and good quality balsamic. My main dish of wild mushroom ravioli was excellent. They don't seem to have a wine list (at least, we were never given one), and their list of wines by the glass is quite short, but has some decently-priced albeit average quality Italian wines.\r
\r
Tased on the terrible service I am not inclined to go here again, which is a pity given the tasty food. If they cane improve their wait-staff, this place would be a worthy contendor with other Italian restaurants on the East side.\r
Pros: parking
Cons: service
