Review content:
I took my car to Carls Auto glass for a simple enough job-- to get a new windshield put in. Well, this ended up being anything, but simple. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a repair shop. \r
\r
Three months after getting the windshield put in I noticed it was leaking. It was probably leaking the entire time, but I didn't drive it often and happened to not be in it while it was raining. It just so happens that the day I noticed it, over night there was a heavy rainstorm. I went out to my car in the morning to find the towel I laid down soaked through, the change holder on top of the dashboard overflowing with water and my CD player not working. Besides the leak, the inner seal looked like crap and the outer (decorative) seal beginning to peel up. Pretty much an overall bad job putting it on.\r
\r
I bring it to the shop; the guy sitting across the room behind the desk doesn't even get up to greet me. I explain that I called ahead and tell him about the windshield and also the CD player. He tells me to just leave my keys on the counter and they will look at it. \r
\r
When they call to tell me they are done fixing it, I ask what was wrong and he said there was a hole in the seal from when they put it in. I then ask about my CD player and apparently the other guy never mentioned it because I was basically accused of lying about it to try and scam them. He then quickly backtracked and tried to come up with other reasons it was leaking that wouldn't be his fault. He then said that I should be happy they replaced it without giving me any problems. Apparently fixing shoddy work, that they advertise comes with a warranty, is going above and beyond for the customer at his shop. \r
\r
He says that I need to take it to an car audio shop and have them prove the damage was caused by water. I ask him if after they say it is will he pay for the repairs. He is very careful not to say yes, only saying ""we will talk about it."" In my head, I imagine the situation playing out by me paying more money to have a shop look at my car and Carl's auto still refusing to pay for any repairs. I'm a laid off teacher, working the only part time job I can find trying to pay my mortgage. I don't have the money to mess around with more car repairs and installation fees so I decided to cut my losses and just save up for a cheap CD player and install it myself. \r
\r
Learn from my mistakes and stay away from this rude, unprofessional shop.
