I normally don't write reviews. Ever....but I have to let everyone know what they are missing if they don't go to Bayview OBGYN for their care. I had a pregnancy that I was being cared for by Dr McNeil & his staff last year. I wound up going to a high risk doctor to make sure everything was ok because I'm over 35. At 19 weeks into my pregnancy, there were major complications and needless to say, the pregnancy had to be terminated due to multiple problems in that which the baby could not survive outside of my body. I had gotten a second opinion and there was nothing that could be done. It was the worst thing I've ever had to go through in my life. Dr McNeil took his own personal time to call me at home to make sure I was ok and to offer me comfort and the best explanation that he could offer. (Keep in mind that this part was all handled at another doctor's office and he didn't have to even get involved.) He even told me not to let what had happened dictate my future. I listened to him and wound up getting pregnant 4 months after my D&E. Last month he delivered my baby girl. Of course that didn't come easy either. I had a scheduled delivery planned for a Wednesday at 5 am. Dr McNeil had talked me through every step of what he was going to do. He was very patient with me and all my questions. I was in labor for 22 hours and then he finally broke the news that I had to have a c-section. I didn't have the baby until the next day at 3am!! The baby didn't want to turn her head and it was the only way she was coming out. Dr McNeil held my hand all the way to the operating room. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I found more comfort in him than my own husband!! The baby was out in no time flat and he even gave me stitches instead of staples since I had been through so much. Dr McNeil and his staff are so wonderful I would NEVER go anywhere else. I live in Bradenton and don't mind the drive. You couldn't pay me enough to trust anyone but them for my care.
