I have had other people do duct cleaning for me before, and I don't know what equipment they used, but they did a poor job in only an hour and a half. You can't thoroughly clean a duct in such a short time.
The man from Colorado Duct Cleaning was here for a good eight hours. He handwashed all the filters and cleaned the inside of our furnace. I have never seen duct work like this before, it was amazing to see all the stuff he got out of the vent. Some of it was from when the house was first constructed, over 18 years ago! We bought the house a few months ago and figured we should get the ducts cleaned. Even though we were told that the sellers had hired some guy to clean the ducts before they sold the house, we couldn't tell someone else had ever been there. The ducts were filthy, dirt practically baked on. After Colorado Duct Cleaning came out, the vents were shiny like new.
The man they sent out was a one-man show.
