Review content:
I just returned from Katy, Tx (Houston) this afternoon after an expensive, time consuming and frustrating experience with Tuner Racing. I set up an appointment 5 weeks ago to have a ""lambo"" door conversion on my BMW Z3 coupe. They represented themselves as the ""experts"" of door conversions. I live over 600 miles from their shop, so choosing them for the work was quite a leap of faith. At any rate, my wife and I took 3 days vacation time from our jobs, reserved a rental car, hotel rooms, etc., and looked forward to a little ""mini-vacation"" in the Houston/Galveston area while the Z3 was being worked on. We arrived at Tuner Racing's shop at the appointed time, listened to everyone ""ooh and ahh"" about how good the car would look with the door conversion, called Enterprise Car Rental to come pick us up, and we were off to enjoy some free time. After we had checked into our hotel, I got a call from the shop. ""We can't do the job"". WHAT????? ""Your car is too unusual, the hinge manufacturer's descriptions weren't clear enough..we thought we could do it but we can't"". All this after several Emails and phone conversations assuring me that, ""We're the best...we've done thousands of these"", etc., etc. Next morning, we returned the rental car, picked up the unaltered Z3 and drove more than 600 miles home. All together, including lost wages, gas, hotels, rental car and meals, Tuner Racing's misrepresentations cost me over $2500.00!! They may do well on simple jobs that don't require forethought or planning, but if you're considering work ""out of the ordinary"", you might do yourself a favor, and look someplace else. I think the worst part is that I feel a little stupid for trusting a slick web site and a good telephone presentation, without any evidence that there is competence to back up inflated claims of expertise. As we were beginning our butt-numbing return trip, it occured to me that they hadn't even offered to vacuum the car...Buyer Beware!! Pros: great web site Cons: inexperience, lack of professional expertise
